This place was recommended by our Ryokan (Kyononado Gekkoan - another excellent place). We ordered the special for 2 for ¥6282 and we did not regret. The service is EXCELLENCE, the portion is just right, the taste (including the dessert we ordered - catalana and lemon shorbet) is EXCELLENCE… I have never eaten that much beef in my life! The vegetable salad is a very good side dish, we had 2 servings of that. We strongly recommend this place in Kyoto.
Great quality beef, same owner with the butcher next door, staff are friendly but can only speak really little english. My mum doesn't eat beef, but there's one pork option, and she had noodle dish too, quite nice too. Overall it's a good place to go if you stay near the area
The grand opening orchards caught my eyes. The premise is nicely renovated. Must order Thick sliced chateau briand, superb.
The restaurant offers a wide selection of different types of meat (beef). There are several set menus for 2–3 people, as well as smaller portions. You can order raw meat and grill it yourself on the table grill. The meat cooks quickly and turns out very tasty. You can also choose ready-made dishes from the menu, such as rice with vegetables and eggs, or various snacks.
What a great experience. We had a reservation for 4 people and it got pretty busy. The friendly staff was eager to help us decide on our dishes, there were so many great options. All around excellent food and value.
(Visited In 2023) This is one of the older yakiniku hiro locations and the inner decor shows its age. Tables are greasy, which is more or less expected and acceptable. Other than that the cleanliness still has room for improvement; we found used napkins and food scraps under the table after we were seated. They asked you to take off your shoes before sitting. Stepping on trash barefoot is nasty. None of their staff speaks English but we managed to order by pointing at things on the menu. The locals were definitely getting more attention from the servers, but we can’t really complain. Back to the highlight, the wagyu itself; the quality and the diversity are incredible. Not overly fatty, but it melts in your mouth no matter what doneness you cook it to. Portion is tiny, but the price is reasonable. We finished the set menu for 2 quickly and ordered more without hesitation. One of the best yakiniku I had, if not the best, in terms of the quality of the meat.
This place is very busy, we were not able to get a booking, so we came when the shop opened for an early dinner and finished by 6:30. The beef was so tender and flavourful, and not as pricey as other restaurants. The service was also excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and will return on my next trip to Kyoto.
Managed to get a reservation at 9pm via online in advance. On the day itself, we tried to walk in at 6pm and it was full house. Food was definitely up to standard and price was reasonable for its great quality. We ordered the platter for 2 as recommended by the staff. Would come back here again if possible
